| Customer Reviews: Does what it says on the box July 28, 2007 Ian (Leeds, West Yorkshire United Kingdom) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I replaced a Belkin switch 2 (which stopped working after 2 days and was a complete waste of money) with this unit. Build quality is excellent, the metal case is very strong and durable, with easy to use switching and clear lights and beeps to tell which computer is switched. We now have 2 laptops and a desktop connected and it is truly plug and play with an epson printer connected through the built in swithable 2 port usb hub, it works like a dream and printing is easy from any computer.
On the down side: it is more expensive than some swithes, but it is worth every penny. However be aware you don't get any cables to connect the computers and monitor with so buy monitor and USB cables at the same time. it adds more expense but this is a very flexible and at the moment reliable switch
Good but response times disappointing May 20, 2009 TaGordon (United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In most respects this 4 port USB KVM is good. Connected easily, and had no problem being recognised by all 3 of my machines, 2 desktops and a laptop. Build is solid, controls simple and effective. My main complaints are the time it takes to switch channels. For my two desktops it is 2 seconds but for my laptop it is as much as 8 seconds. There is no keyboard short cut to change the active machine, it's all done by pressing buttons on the KVM. Also be aware that if your keyboard takes to much juice then you will need to buy a power supply (not provided). I've had to downgrade from my media keyboard to an ordinary keyboard. Also it does not come with any extra USB leads. The upside is that I have 3 times as much deskspace!
